Meise Appointed Women, Peace and Security Studies Chair at the US Army War College
Strategic Placement
This fall, Professor Alexandra Meise was appointed Women, Peace and Security Studies Chair at the US Army War College (USAWC) in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where she is serving her second year on secondment as a visiting professor of national security studies. Teaching in the Department of National Security and Strategy at the USAWC’s School of Strategic Landpower, Meise provides graduate-level instruction aimed at preparing senior military officers and civilians for high-level national security leadership positions and strategic responsibilities.
“Human security — particularly addressing protections for and participation of vulnerable populations — is national security,” said Meise. “It is an honor to take on the role of chair and to be a part of important engagements with international partners working to advance security at home and abroad.”
