Noveck Receives Honorary Degree

Pomp and circumstance abounded in October when Professor Beth Simone Noveck, director of The Burnes Center for Social Change, received an honorary degree from the University of Geneva. Unlike in the United States, where most honorary degrees are awarded at graduation ceremonies, the University of Geneva held an Academic Day (Dies academicus) to celebrate learning and scholarship in honor of Noveck and other recipients of the university’s high honors. Noveck’s research and advocacy focus on using AI to reimagine participatory democracy and strengthen governance.
