Roux Fellow Davies Assists Start-Ups
To support start-ups and entrepreneurs affiliated with Northeastern University’s Roux Institute in Portland, Maine, Daniel Davies ’22 has been named the Roux Institute Legal Fellow for 2023–2024. In this role, Davies is providing guidance on a variety of business formation issues to local individuals and enterprises in need of IP and business assistance. The fellowship is a collaboration between Northeastern Law and the Roux Institute to spur innovation, build talent and drive economic growth in Portland, the state of Maine and northern New England. Eaton Peabody, one of Maine’s top law firms, is partnering with the Roux Institute to provide supervision and mentorship to Davies.
“I am thrilled to join the Roux as its newest legal fellow,” said Davies, a UK national who holds a degree in chemistry. “This presents a fantastic opportunity to work in an innovative, entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary environment. Northeastern Law taught me the importance of legal access in advancing the public interest and promoting community success. I’m now working within a space that focuses on collaborating with entrepreneurs who are passionate about their ideas.”
The Roux Institute Legal Fellowship is open to recent Northeastern Law graduates committed to using their degrees in an innovative, entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary environment. It is a one-year position with the opportunity to explore a second-year term either at the Roux Institute or with one of its partners. As part of the fellowship program, Davies is collaborating with the directors of the law school’s Intellectual Property Law Clinic and Community Business Clinic and other staff members.
