Northeastern Law is thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generosity of our community, the school has raised $1 million with the A Million Thanks for Dan Givelber campaign honoring the late Dan Givelber, a beloved former dean and faculty member who passed away on June 25, 2023. Funds raised are designated for the Givelber-Subrin Public Interest Law Co-op Fund, which supports Northeastern Law students who undertake nonpaying or low-paying public service co-ops to build their skill set and advance their careers.

“Dan’s contributions to our community were immeasurable,” said Dean James Hackney. “When one of our graduates approached us with the idea to honor Dan by increasing the endowed portion of the existing Givelber-Subrin Public Interest Law Co-op Fund from $500,000 to $1 million, we started this campaign. Less than a year later, our community of graduates, faculty and staff has joined with Dan’s family and friends to raise $540,000. This is a perfect way to honor Dan’s commitment to the school and to support students undertaking public interest co-ops.” Numerous graduates offered significant support, including matching funds from Larry Cetrulo ’75 and Bill Newman ’75, as well as leadership gifts from James Buechl ’74, Leslie Joseph ’93, Mary Kay Leonard ’79, Jeremy Naylor ’99 and many others.
