Seawell Welcomed as Social Justice Teaching Fellow

Em Seawell has joined Northeastern Law’s Legal Skills in Social Context program as a Social Justice Teaching Fellow. Seawell previously served as a senior staff attorney with the ACLU of North Carolina, where they worked on state and federal impact litigation and class-action cases. Prior to that, Seawell was an attorney with the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, focusing on voting rights. They also taught for two years in the legal writing program at UNC School of Law. Seawell is a graduate of the University of Florida and Elon University School of Law.

Professor Antoinette Coakley, assistant dean of Northeastern Law’s Bar Success Program, was recognized in March as one of the 57 Most Influential Black Attorneys in the Northeast by the Northeast Black Law Students Association (NEBLSA).
Professor Sharmila Murthy, an expert on examining legal and policy barriers to achieving environmental justice, improving access to water and addressing climate change, has been named faculty co-director of the law school’s Center for Public Interest Advocacy and Collaboration.
