Professor Karl Klare, an internationally renowned scholar in labor and employment law, was honored in May with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild for his decades of scholarship, teaching and activism in advancing workers’ rights and progressive legal thought. “I am thrilled by this honor, especially because my career was in teaching rather than law practice,” said Klare. “The recognition is for our work at Northeastern Law as much as it is for me.”

“Today, if we are on our knees, we need to rise up and resist regressive efforts. And optimism serves as the fuel for a continued and successful campaign to recruit others to join in. As you enter the profession, I hope that you will find ways to join in this effort, even if it is in small ways.” Ralph C. Martin II ’78 told the more than 200 JD, LLM and MLS students who graduated on May 2, 2025, in Matthews Arena.
In May, Professor Elettra Bietti presented on “AI Antitrust as Regulatory Law” at the Law, Technology and Economics of AI conference held at the University of Hong Kong.
