Professor David Simon, an expert in healthcare law, intellectual property, data governance and liability, has been selected as a 2025 Health Law Scholar by the Center for Health Law Studies at Saint Louis University School of Law and the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics. One of only four scholars nationwide chosen to present their work at the prestigious Health Law Scholars Workshop in September, Simon will share his work in progress “Fatal Data,” which argues that medical device manufacturers have incentives to present adverse event reports in ways that make it difficult to detect safety signals.
“It is an honor to be included as a Health Law Scholar,” said Simon, who serves as principal investigator for the Amy J. Reed Collaborative for Medical Device Safety. “I look forward to learning from and joining the distinguished alumni of the program.”
