Addison Co-Leads Undergrads on Rwanda Trip
This was the third time Professor Quisquella Addison (center) has visited Rwanda and her first time leading a Diaglogue of Civilizations.

Professor Quisquella Addison took a group of undergraduates to Rwanda for a month through Northeastern’s Dialogue of Civilizations program, immersing them in the country’s sustainable development landscape from the ground up. Students pitched research-based policy recommendations on innovation and economic development directly to Rwandan government officials, partnered with local nonprofits to produce multimedia content and traveled between rural villages and urban centers to see development work up close.
“Our students gained something no traditional classroom could offer: an understanding that sustainable change begins with listening rather than problem-solving,” said Addison, who co-led the Rwanda trip with Professor Jill Dupree, a member of the Northeastern economics faculty.
